Darren Sims is a Law Clerk at KC Law Group, where he supports the firm’s litigation and advisory practices through legal research, case analysis, and drafting. He brings a distinguished background as a highly decorated law enforcement professional, with over a decade of progressive experience in public safety and criminal investigations.

Darren currently serves as a Sergeant with the San Bernardino Police Department, and has held key roles across several high-impact units, including the Specialized Enforcement Team, Narcotics Unit, Gang Unit, Federal Gang Task Force, Robbery Unit, and Homicide Unit. In 2023, he was honored as Officer of the Year.

Darren is a third-year law student at the University of La Verne College of Law, where he has earned multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, Student of Merit honors, and consistent placement on the Dean’s List. He also serves as a Contracts Teaching Fellow.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California Baptist University, where he was also a collegiate athlete. In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Darren has served as a law enforcement union representative, advocating in contract negotiations and officer rights matters.
