DUSTIN CISCEL

LAW CLERK

Dustin brings more than 26 years of law enforcement experience with the Anaheim Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to his role as Law Clerk at KC Law Group. Throughout his career, he has held several positions, including gang investigator, Mexican Mafia Task Force Investigator, Vice and Narcotics Investigator, SWAT operator, arrest and control instructor, and field training officer. 

As a sergeant, Dustin served as a patrol sergeant and canine sergeant and led the training detail for 5 years. As the training sergeant, Dustin focused extensively on training and use-of-force law and was involved in assisting with the review of several officer-involved shootings and in-custody deaths. He has trained several hundred officers and has testified as the person most knowledgeable on use-of-force, tactics, training, and policy in both state and federal courts. 

As a lieutenant, Dustin has served as a patrol watch commander and major crimes section commander, and is currently the detention facility and air support commander. He brings real-world insight into the legal and operational aspects of policing.

Dustin holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor. His combined operational leadership experience and legal education uniquely position him to support the firm in matters involving law enforcement practices, policy analysis, and complex civil litigation.
