LAUREN BIXLER

INVESTIGATOR

Lauren Bixler serves as a contract investigator for KC Law Group, A Professional Law Corporation, bringing more than 16 years of law enforcement experience to the firm’s investigative team. During her career with the Palm Springs Police Department, Lauren served in a wide range of assignments, including Acting Sergeant, Field Training Officer, Detective, Arson Investigator, Crime Scene Investigator, Firearms Instructor, and Designated Marksman.

As an Acting Sergeant, Lauren supervised more than 20 personnel across patrol and support functions, performed watch commander duties, reviewed personnel work for compliance with department policies and procedures, responded to citizen complaints, and conducted initial internal investigations when necessary. She also participated in employee training and performance matters, including addressing deficiencies and recommending disciplinary procedures.

Lauren’s investigative background includes property crimes, complex crime scenes, evidence collection and preservation, mobile-device forensics, arson, explosives, and fire-death investigations. As a Crime Scene Investigator and Evidence Technician, she processed more than 350 cases ranging from burglaries to multiple-homicide scenes. She also conducted more than 50 advanced mobile-device forensic analyses and investigated more than 300 arson-related cases, including 32 involving fire deaths.

Lauren has also devoted a significant portion of her career to training and mentoring law enforcement personnel. As a Field Training Officer, she trained and mentored new and lateral officers, and as a Firearms Instructor, she developed training courses, conducted qualifications, identified performance deficiencies, and worked with officers to improve their performance. Her specialized training includes criminal investigations, interview and interrogation, crime-scene investigation, shooting reconstruction and blood-spatter analysis, arson and explosives investigations, forensic fire-death investigation, and mobile-device forensics.

At KC Law Group, Lauren applies her law enforcement, supervisory, and investigative experience to case investigation, evidence review, witness development, and case preparation, with particular value in matters involving first responders, administrative investigations, critical incidents, and criminal defense. Her experience provides a practical understanding of how incidents are investigated, how evidence is collected and evaluated, and how law enforcement policies, training, and field realities intersect with the facts of a case.
